A new, high level bridge is planned, but construction will take a while. Be warned that Vrooman Road is open from I-90 to Mason's Landing (the other side of the bridge) and NOT up the hill into Painesville. Picnic tables are available for those who wish to lunch.
Basic outhouses in both the lower and upper sections of the park and some neat historical markers in the upper make this a place you can explore for many hours. The creek is wadeable in many parts, and is a favorite for a late spring/summer outing with the kids. There are also some trails in the upper sections of the park, as well as one along the creek below. The road isn't heavily traveled and is compacted dirt, so there's not a problem using that as a walking space. Just walk (or drive) along the lower park road and up the hill in the spring and you'll find masses of bluebells! If you walk, you can identify so many more flowers (we hit 25 species).
